A Journey to Diagnosis – Update Part #2
Dr. P finally called he confirmed that my trachea is in fact narrowing and ordered the following blood tests:
- Complete Blood Count (CBC with auto differential)
- Comprehensive Metabolic Panel (Blood Sugar, Liver, Kidney, Muscle, Heart function).
- Antineutrophil Cytoplasmic Antibodies (ANCA, MPO, PR3) – [ANCA testing] detects and measures the amount of Antineutrophil Cytoplasmic Antibodies in the blood. These autoantibodies produced by the immune system that mistakenly target and attack specific proteins within neutrophils (a type of white blood cell).
He also ordered a scope to be done by Dr. D, so that they can see what is going on in my insides. The scope isn’t until the 28th of October. That was the earliest that I could get it. Hopefully, I will get my blood results back before then. Waiting is torture.
I haven’t managed to stay off of “The Google,” as my friend’s doctor called it. The problem with Dr. Google is that everything leads to death, and right now, I don’t need any more stress…
In the meantime, I haven’t been feeling super spectacular. Sleep isn’t happening, and waking up has been hard, even just the physical action of getting up out of bed. I have managed to get some work done, but I am a bit behind.
A weird thing happened the other day, the tips of my fingers turned a purplish color. I don’t know what is going on, but I hope we find out. I can’t explain the pain and fatigue that I am feeling, but I can tell you it’s miserable…
Hopefully, I’ll get some answers soon.
