NaNoWriMo 2018

I had every intention of participating in this year’s #NaNoWriMo.

I even managed to get 2,667 words written on November 1st, but it kind of went downhill from there.

NaNoWriMo, also known as National Novel Writing Month, is a challenge that encourages writers to draft 50,000 words of fiction in one month.

This year would have been my first year participating, but life had other plans for me. My husband and I had a few trips planned for November, and when you are visiting friends and family, it makes it difficult to set aside time every day to write.

After a two-weeks of attempts, I decided to focus on what I had going on. With two blogs to manage, a part-time job with a non-profit and working for my husband, this year just wasn’t my year.

I’m okay with the fact that I didn’t finish this year, mostly because I had a great November, and I have a fairly loft reading goal for December that will get me writing book reviews, and I am sure they will total a decent amount.

I have also been keeping up with my daily journal writing… so even though I didn’t manage to finish NaNoWriMo this year, I did come up with a good idea and some characters that I am planning to develop more over the next year in preparation for 2019.

Next year will be my year for 50,000 words of fiction in one month!
